# Edit, modify profiles

If you want to access the saved profile for a user or an application, both to view it and to modify it, you can select the specific item in the tree or in any of the views:

* **If the item is a user →** *“Users”, “Local*” or “*Remote”*
* **If the item is an application →** \*“Applications”, “\***File signing**” or “*signature verification”*
* **If the item is a group →** group name below “*Local endpoint*” or “*Remote endpoin*t” within the application.
* **If the item is a user already associated with an application →** user name below “*Local endpoint*” or *“Remote endpoin*t” within the application, and within group or not.

And then either open the “*Operations -> Edit*” menu (also from the right-click context menu), or click the second button on the toolbar ![](https://content.gitbook.com/content/AKp9o4ESamTHpX42EKdv/blobs/s86kVoTsIPuO4IyU9HyL/image1.png) or double-click the selected item in the tree or list.

In each case, the dialog with the parameters corresponding to the item will be shown (the same ones that have already been seen in the explanatory sections on creating each item). The enabled values can be modified and with “Save” those new values will be set in the profiles.

* **If the item is the joint conditions ->** the application item will be selected in the tree or list and then the “*Operations -> New group/Conditions for signature* *joint*” menu will be accessed (also from the right-click context menu) or the button ![](https://content.gitbook.com/content/AKp9o4ESamTHpX42EKdv/blobs/wu0eGPlPnuSXnISAOUxz/image2.png) on the toolbar will be pressed. The “*Joint signature conditions*” dialog will be displayed, which was seen in the section **4.2.6**. Selecting the condition to modify and clicking the “Modify condition” button will enable the lower area of the dialog where the new values can be entered. “Save” will be clicked to set the new values in the profiles.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/publico-editranff-v6.2-windows-en/administrador-de-onesait-ecosystems-editran-ff/editar-modificar-perfiles.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
