# Queries to the UNIX gateway

From AS400, you can query the status, log, or configuration of the Windows gateway (see the manual [ED50USUC](file://indranas/editran$/Entorno-AS400/Editran52/usuario/Minsait/PlantillaNuevaDocumentacion/ED50USUC.doc), chapter 1.4), provided that it has been configured; for this, it is necessary that the process *logsrv* which listens by default on port 8120. This value can be modified through the environment variable EDI\_IPC\_KEY\_BASE. For example, if the following lines of the startup script were modified, the port would be 6120 (KEY\_BASE + 120).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-iseries-en/proxy/onesait-editran-proxy-on-unix-and-windows/queries-to-the-unix-gateway.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
