# CONFIGURATION of Editran/XAdES

Before using Editran/XAdES, we must configure it only if it is to be installed on another machine, since this file is configured by default.

To do this, we must run the configuracion\_xades.sh script, located in the bin folder.

In this option, the configurable values of the Java server that performs the verification of XAdES signatures are entered for proper operation. The result is saved in the xades.properties file located in the conf folder.

When running this program, the first thing it does is display the values that we have stored at that moment in the configuration, if that file already existed before.

If we want to edit this file, we must enter S (Yes) when asked whether we want to edit it, and this process the following data:

* Mandatory properties:

o Editran/XAdES IP: IP address on which the Editran/XAdES Java Server is started.

o Editran/XAdES Port: Port on which the Editran/XAdES Java Server is started.

o Store type: The method for obtaining the certificates for signing and the CAs. Currently, on iSeries only the File mode is implemented; always use this one.

o Truststore path: It is the path to the certificate store where the TGSS certificate (CA) and all CAs we must trust are stored.

o Password: Password of the truststore.

* Optional properties:

o Remote Editran/OCSP: Only necessary if you want to use Editran/OCSP remotely; by default it is used locally when certificate verification is to be performed:

* [x] Editran/OCSP IP: IP address of the machine where the Remote Editran/OCSP server is installed and running.
* [x] Editran/OCSP Port: Port of the Editran/OCSP server to connect to it.

o Proxy: Use of a proxy for Editran/XAdES Internet connection. It is necessary when verifying certificates either through CRL or OCSP, and also for signing with TimeStamp to connect to the server that timestamps the signing time:

* [x] Proxy IP: Port of the proxy that Editran/XAdES needs to connect to.
* [x] Proxy Port: Proxy port for Internet connection.
* [x] Proxy User: If necessary, proxy user for Internet connection.
* [x] Proxy Password: Password of the proxy user.

- z/OS System: Indicates whether the system where the Java program is running is a z/OS machine or not. For Windows, Unix or AS400 machines, it should be indicated as no

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-iseries-en/editran-ff/configuration-of-editran-xades.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
