# IMS Transmission Recovery

Recovering transmissions allows the repetition of a transmission carried out previously. It relies on the statistics system and allows a specific transmission to be selected in order to view the data that was sent and/or send it again.

If the transmission was carried out from ordinary application files, the process retrieves the list of files and includes them in the new transmission. The transmission will be correct if these files exist and contain the data they had at that time. An operator will be able to view their contents to make sure.

If the transmission was carried out by macrofiles, the statistics system has no record of the macrofile name and, furthermore, the file assigned to the session will contain data from the last load or will not exist. In this case, a “macrofile log” is added to the macrofile load process, which records the load performed and the name of the macrofile used. This name must be different for each transmission, and a generation file is allowed. The transmission is recovered by performing a load by macrofile with the macrofile used on that occasion. Its contents can also be viewed beforehand.

In both cases, the process is launched by choosing a presentation from the historical sessions query.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-ims-en/recuperacion-transmisiones-ims.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
