# Editran/PX query

This screen is accessed with option 5 of the Activity Control menu or with option 2.5 of the general menu.

To be able to use this option, you must first define in the local environment the parameters corresponding to Network Monitoring.

To configure the gateways and have them operational with this option, consult the corresponding manual ([Proxy](https://gitlab.devops.onesait.com/onesait/disruptors/ecosystems-editran/editran-documentation/-/blob/public/IBM/5.3/IMS/operacion/primerospasos/control-de-actividad-de-onesait-editran/broken-reference/README.md)).

Once the option has been chosen, a screen is displayed with the Editran/PX lines that are implemented in the local environment.

Since the gateway lines are configurable by transmission session, those shown on the screen may not match those you want to query; therefore, modification of the IP address and the query port is allowed.

The gateway on which the query will be performed will be selected with an 's' on the left:

```
If the chosen option is STATUS QUERY, the result of the query will appear in the message line of this same screen: “GATEWAY ACTIVE” or “GATEWAY DOWN”. Likewise, any error in communication with the query server, for this or any other option, will be shown in the aforementioned line.
To perform the LOG QUERY, a screen similar to the rest of the log queries carried out in the application will be shown, except that the IP address and the port over which the query is being made appear.
The fields that filter the log content displayed are the local code, the remote code, the application, the date, and the time. Unlike other queries, a partial selection -using an asterisk- of the local, remote, and application codes will not be possible.
Once in the log query, you can move forward and backward with the function keys \<PF7> and \<PF8>.
When the selected option is CONFIGURATION QUERY, a screen will be displayed with the address data that identify the gateway.
Below is an example of the Editran/PX log query and the configuration screens of an Editran/PX.
## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.
Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:
```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-ims-en/operacion/primerospasos/control-de-actividad-de-onesait-editran/consulta-de-editran-px.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```
`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
