# Monitoring and Alarms Statistics

The objective of the Monitoring and Statistics subsystem is to make it easier to detect problems that cause the interruption of the normal progression of the platform's processes at each of the stages of data presentation and transmission, as well as to obtain information about incidents that, without causing the interruption of processes, delay them or produce undesired effects. In addition, information is collected about the amount of data and the processing they undergo before and after transmission.

The aim is not to obtain exhaustive information about all the steps a session goes through — for this, there are already the Editran/P trace and log queries and the Editran/G log — but rather to obtain a list of interrupted sessions in order to act on them quickly and to correct any incidents detected in successful transmissions so as to further fine-tune their operation.

This document describes the operation and the possibilities that the subsystem offers to the user.

There are two ways to obtain information about the status of the sessions: the online query mode through a transaction executed in teleprocessing, and the batch mode through listings and by processing a file with the data resulting from session activity.

Each of the options is described throughout the document.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-ims-en/estadisticas-monitorizacion-y-alarmas.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
