# Configuration of certificate revocation status query

The use of the revocados.properties file, located in the conf folder, allows you to extend the places where the revocation status of certificates can be consulted with respect to the information that the certificate itself provides. This feature has been implemented to make use of those certificates that do not provide this information in a self-sufficient way, for example, when they include the CRL list name but not the address where it can be consulted.

The content of the file can contain as many blocks like the following as necessary:

```
nombre.ca.0=CA Name
ldap.0=
ocsp.0=
crl.0.0=
crl.0.1=
crl.0.2=
```

In the entry “nombre.ca.n=” you should write a keyword that identifies all certificates issued by the same CA and that appears both in the DN of the issuer of the signing certificate and in all the DNs of the certificates in its certification path, for example “FMNT”, “DNIE”, “SWIFT”, etc.

In the entry “ocsp.0=” write the URL address to connect to the OCSP server, for example <http://ocsp.dnie.es>.

In the entry “ldap.0=” write the LDAP address to connect to the server. If that information is already included in the certificate, it is not necessary to specify it.

In the entries “crl.0.n=”, as many as necessary for each CA, addresses where the CRL list can be consulted will be indicated, and even simply the names of the CRLs; in this case the list must be downloaded in the crl subfolder.

The consultation is done first at the location indicated by the certificate itself. If the information is not self-sufficient and the search cannot be carried out, then the list downloaded in the crl folder is searched. If it is not there either, it continues searching in the places indicated in revocados.properties, in the same order in which the entries for the corresponding CA appear (according to the example, it would first search in ocsp.0, then in crl.0.0, crl.0.1, etc.).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-comun-z-os-en/editran-ff-instalacion-firma-y-verificacion-v7.1.1/otras-utilidades/configuracion-de-la-consulta-del-estado-de-revocacion-de-los-certificados.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
