# Installation requirements

At least IBM 31-bit SDK for z/OS, Java Technology Edition, V8 must be installed, and access to JZOS for access to MVS files is required; the files for this are located in $JAVA\_HOME/lib/ext.

To be able to sign with XAdES in RACF mode, it is necessary to add the IBMJCECCA provider in first position to the list in the $JAVA\_HOME/conf/security/java.security file, as shown below:

```sh
#
# List of providers and their preference orders (see above):
#
security.provider.1=IBMJCECCA
security.provider.2=OpenJCEPlus
security.provider.3=IBMZSecurity
security.provider.4=SUN
security.provider.5=SunRsaSign
security.provider.6=SunEC
security.provider.7=SunJSSE
security.provider.8=SunJCE
security.provider.9=SunJGSS
security.provider.10=SunSASL
security.provider.11=XMLDSig
security.provider.12=SunPCSC
security.provider.13=JdkLDAP
security.provider.14=JdkSASL
security.provider.15=SunPKCS11
```

If you cannot modify the global java.security file for all applications due to its potential impact on other applications and products, you can configure the security provider at the application level by following the steps below:

1. Copy the current java.security and name that copy custom.java.security (or any name you prefer).
2. Edit the new file (custom.java.security) and add the IBMJCECCA provider in the first position
3. Point from start.sh and from obten\_dn.sh to the new file (custom.java.security) with the parameter\
   -Djava.security.properties=/path/custom.java.security .

A Java TCP server, which must have an address and a port on which to listen for requests made from the application in MVS.

Access to ZOS UNIX services.

Minimum version of the Editran/FF V7RF00 product.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-comun-z-os-en/editran-ff-instalacion-firma-y-verificacion-v7.1.1/instalacion-y-requisitos/requisitos-de-instalacion.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
