# Onesait · Editran installation

## Installation requirements <a href="#toc149149334" id="toc149149334"></a>

For the installation of editran, the following requirements are needed:

* JCL library with the following characteristics:&#x20;

```cobol
//JCLS   DD     DSN=Puntero.JCLLIB,DISP=(NEW,CATLG),                         X
//              DCB=(DSORG=PO,RECFM=FB,LRECL=80,BLKSIZE=6160),               X
//              SPACE=(CYL,(1,1,15)),UNIT=Unidad,VOL=SER=Volumen
```

* EXECUTABLES library with the following characteristics:&#x20;

```cobol
//LOAD   DD     DSN=Puntero.LOADLIB,DISP=(NEW,CATLG),                        X
//              DCB=(DSORG=PO,RECFM=U,LRECL=0,BLKSIZE=19069),                X
//              SPACE=(CYL,(25,0,100)),UNIT=Unidad,VOL=SER=Volumen
```

* Authorize the Executables library in APF.
* There are 6 procedures that are called from editran/P or from editran/G; these procedures must be in a PROCLIB library or in a library specified in a JCLLIB statement.&#x20;

```cobol
//LIBPROC       JCLLIB                ORDER=Puntero.JCLLIB
```

## Product installation <a href="#toc149149335" id="toc149149335"></a>

The steps to be carried out for the installation of the product are described below:

* Define the libraries described above.
* Download the magnetic media using the IEBCOPY utility according to the listing attached to the media.
* Run the ZTXINST Clist as follows: TSO EX 'library.jcls.EDITRAN(ZTXINST)' and the following will appear:

```cobol
*******************************************************
* TYPE THE NAME OF THE LIBRARY WHERE IT IS LOCATED *
*         THIS CLIST, THE PANEL AND THE MACRO TO EXECUTE  *
*******************************************************
(TYPE END TO CANCEL) :
```

&#x20;Type the name of the editran 5.3 JCL library&#x20;

```cobol
*********************************************
* TYPE THE NAME OF THE MACRO TO EXECUTE  *
*********************************************
(TYPE END TO CANCEL) :
```

&#x20;Type ZTXINSM1 and the following panel will appear:&#x20;

```
* All necessary data will be modified. This clist modifies all the JCLs in the library specified in the field ‘Library to change’.
* Copy the 6 procedures to the PROCLIB library .
* Authorize the product executable library in APF.
* Run the JCLs for file definitions  ([see the chapter File definition in CICS](/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-cics-en/installation/definition-of-files-in-cics.md) ). Note: you must run the file initialization JCLs for editran/P and editran/G, as well as buffers. If you have other products (signature, statistics, etc.), you must run the appropriate JCLs for the product used.
* There is product control by license, so Indra will supply a sequential file with that license. To incorporate it, ZTBLJG02 will be run.
* Define all the resources necessary for the product (zOS, CICS) as reflected in the previous chapters of this manual.
* For CICS definitions, some helpful JCLs are provided:
  * FCTCEDA: Definition of editran files in CEDA.
  * PCTCEDA: Definition of editran transactions in CEDA.
  * PPTCEDA: Definition of the editran programs and maps in CEDA
## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.
Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:
```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-cics-en/installation/onesait-editran-installation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```
`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
