# General information

To work with Editran/FF, it is necessary to maintain a profile file with information about:

* Local environment: A series of general parameters is identified for working with the product, such as the listening address of the signing service, EditranSignatureServices.
* Local and remote users: The names of the signing users will be defined, both those of the organization itself and those of other entities. For local users, the certificates they will use to sign will be specified, while for remote users the identification contained in the certificate they use to sign will be indicated. Local users are associated with Editran's local code and can take part in any transmission. Remote users are associated with the Editran codes of the other entities and only take part in transmissions with those entities.
* Applications: The Editran/G sessions that will use file signing will be registered.
* Application signing rules. Signing rules associated with the applications will be generated. The rules may include banking standards and companies.
* Users associated with rules. The local and remote users, defined previously, will be associated with the signing rules. The rules will include users and groups, and conditions may be set on the number of signatures and mandatory groups, including amount control by user/file/operation.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-cics-en/electronic-signature/general-information.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
