# Definitions and resources

It is recommended to follow the [installation manual](/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-cics-en/installation.md) and the [reinstallation](/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-cics-en/reinstallation.md), as well as the specific manuals for each contracted product. When a phase or a new version is received, it should be checked whether there are “new resources,” which must be defined:

* Programs
* Transactions
* Files
* Terminals
* Le/370 (batch and online parameters).
* CICS initialization table
* Others (TCP/IP, VTAM, NCP, etc.)

## Programs <a href="#toc149127451" id="toc149127451"></a>

Those required to be registered in the teleprocessing monitor are described in the various manuals (installation of editran/P+G, editran/E, Cryptography, TCP/IP, etc.). For some of them, a table is provided (see PPT\* in the JCLs library).

## Transactions. <a href="#toc149127452" id="toc149127452"></a>

Those required to be registered in the teleprocessing monitor are described in the various manuals (installation of editran/P, editran/E, TCP/IP, etc.). For some of them, a table is provided (see PCT\* in the JCLs library).

## Files <a href="#toc149127453" id="toc149127453"></a>

Those required to be registered in the teleprocessing monitor are described in the various manuals (installation of editran/P+G, editran/E, Cryptography, TCP/IP, etc.). For some of them, a table is provided (see FCT\* in the JCLs library).

## Terminals <a href="#toc149127454" id="toc149127454"></a>

Those required to be registered in the teleprocessing monitor are described in the various manuals (installation of editran/P, etc.). For some of them, a table is provided (see TCT\* in the JCLs library).

## Others. <a href="#toc149127455" id="toc149127455"></a>

They are described in the various product manuals and in the [installation manual](/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-cics-en/installation.md) – [reinstallation](/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-cics-en/reinstallation.md). If you change versions and make use of communication lines, etc., you must change the fictitious LU and real LU terminal definitions (started transaction), as well as the TCP/IP listener transid, etc., so that they point to the new transactions.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/ibm-editran-v5.3-cics-en/download-cics-version/operations-to-perform-upon-receiving-the-product/definitions-and-resources.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
