# Recover

All files that have previously been temporarily discarded can be recovered. It is not possible to recover files that were deleted during the discarding process.

When the file is recovered, all signatures made on it are also recovered.

All users who have the permission can recover files **Withdraw** in the *file group* to which the file belongs.

Files can be recovered manually or automatically.\
🖐️ Manual recovery: done by pressing the button **Recover**, available on the screen **File details** of a file that has previously been discarded. ![Botón Recuperar fichero](https://1190478111-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FzO0mk2eo5LONjICfqrP8%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-bde264fc5dd2bcc7c551cf446b31c8879da12040%2F09_boton_recuperar.png?alt=media) ⏰ Automatic recovery: runs on a scheduled basis when, during the discarding process, a recovery date and time have been defined. Even if there is a scheduled automatic recovery, the user can recover the file manually at any time before the set date.

Whatever the recovery method, once the file and the signatures it had at the time it was discarded are restored, its signature workflow can be resumed.

The recovery operation is audited in the **Activity log** signature.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-v3.1-en/firma/firmadeficheros/detallefichero/recuperar.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
