# Clone

Cloning (![Icono clonado](https://1190478111-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FzO0mk2eo5LONjICfqrP8%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-6130e71acf36dd05cf714655f2ec344c885ba9b8%2F04_icono_clonar_gf.png?alt=media)) is a feature that allows you to create a new *file group* starting from another one already created and is especially useful when the new *file group* shares the values of many of the parameters of the *file group* already existing one.

Initially, all and every one of the parameters of the *file group* being copied (**Configuration**, **Signer groups**, **Users – Groups** and **Controllers**). As many as necessary should be modified in each of the four stages and finally press **Save**. If the system finds no conflict with the rest of the *file groups* already configured, the new *file group* will be created and added to the list.

🧾 **Use case**

> A first *file group* has already been created for a certain amount range of a certain set of files and it is necessary to configure another for the next range. Instead of creating it from **New group**, where the parameter form is presented blank, use **Clone** to display the form loaded with all the parameters of the *file group* being copied. Next, the amount range is modified, and other parameters that need to change, and press **Save**. The process is much faster.

This functionality is also accessible from the detail view of the *file group*.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-v3.1-en/firma/administracionconnectfirma/grupoficheros/clonar.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
