# Input channel

If a *channel* is a receiving channel and has the signature feature enabled:

* The files received through it are signatures that are verified immediately and automatically after receipt.
* The signature files that are received must have the extension `.xsig` or `.p7b` so that Connect recognizes them as such and can apply the desired verification processing to them.
* Verification of each signature file is carried out on two levels: first, in relation to itself (structure, validity of the received certificates, integrity of the signed file, etc.) and second, in relation to the signing rules, or *file groups*, that apply to it. Whenever possible, the signed file is extracted during validation of the first level.
* The rules with which signatures are verified are defined through the *file groups* verify-purpose that are associated with the *channel*.
* Files are not configured from the menu **Contacts** and **Channels** but from the menu **File group**.
* In **Integration with applications -> Post-receipt process** should not be enabled **Move to directory** nor **Run program** when this implies moving the received files with extension `.xsig` or `.p7b`. This is because the verification process can only be triggered if the signature files are in the receiving directory.

The *file groups* verify-purpose, and that have already been configured for the *channel* receiving, are listed in **Address book -> Contact -> Channel (Edit) → Files**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-v3.1-en/firma/administracionconnectfirma/canal/configuracion_canal_recepcion_con_firma.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
