# User operations

User management in Editran Connect allows you to administer who can access the system, which functionalities they can use, and at what level of privileges. This module is essential to ensure the platform's security, traceability, and operational organization. To manage users it is available in the application's left side menu for users with the role of **"global administrator"**, where we can access the list of all application users

In the roles tab (image 58) a brief definition of each role's permissions and the number of users with each role will be shown, being able to view the role information in greater detail, as well as the users associated with each role. ![listado de roles](https://64653979-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FvdpBggYaSLH9X3nOAiMG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-c04720dd8bc734f83e83d529e2367406d2f5fca2%2Fimage156.PNG?alt=media)

## New user

In the users tab you can create a new user through the button in the upper right corner. User creation is divided into three parts:

* general data
* the roles
* specific data depending on the selected role

First we will complete the user's general information: first name, last name, position, email address and user status.

![Roles and user. General information of a new user.](https://64653979-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FvdpBggYaSLH9X3nOAiMG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-bcffa6b31b362ddd2478a1a0e6039a926465f641%2Fimage157.png?alt=media)

Next we will complete which roles the user belongs to in the application and, if the license includes a signature module, the user's signature role (if applicable) must be selected.

![Roles and user. Roles of the new user.](https://64653979-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FvdpBggYaSLH9X3nOAiMG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-6ec0cf85940bc3a2a5d8a9b459c7ef07b620b551%2Fimage158.png?alt=media)

Finally, the channels to which the user will have access will be selected, provided they are not a global administrator (who has access to the entire system). If the product license includes the signature module and a signature role has been selected, additional user parameters must be registered depending on the role.

If they are a signature administrator, the contacts the user will have access to must be selected, and if they are a signer, the certificates with which the user can sign must be uploaded.

![Roles and users. Channel permissions](https://64653979-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FvdpBggYaSLH9X3nOAiMG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-03914c5728fa2c7cac093538b8085ca53a171bb2%2Fimage159.PNG?alt=media)

Once the user is created, they will receive an email at the registered email address with the access password to the application, which they can later modify in *profile settings* > *profile*.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-v2.1-en/operacion/usuarios/usuarios_operativa.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
