# Local Configuration

The section **Local Configuration** of Editran Connect allows you to view and modify the essential parameters for the system's operation. Access is limited according to the user's role, with the **Global Administrator** having all editing and management permissions.

![Access to local configuration](https://64653979-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FvdpBggYaSLH9X3nOAiMG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-62347e194f4d7f3ea60bd335ca6e63bb6ac18a2a%2F10_configuracion_local_acceso.png?alt=media)

In the left side menu of this section you will find the following options:

* **License**: Shows general information about the license we have installed and its details.
* **Local codes**: Allows managing the identifiers that represent the local installation in communication channels. It also includes management of RSA keys associated with these codes that we will exchange with other remotes.
* **IP Addresses**: Here local IP addresses and those used as proxies are configured. It is essential to ensure correct communication with third-party Editran nodes
* **Application categories**: Facilitates the logical classification of channels by assigning categories that group different application codes.
* **Schedules**: Allows defining the schedules that govern when automatic transmissions are executed. They can be daily, weekly, or monthly.
* **Mail server**: Configuration of the SMTP server used for sending emails, such as reports or notifications.
* **Report communication**: Establishes the recipients and frequency of statistical reports related to transmission activity.
* **Messaging services**: The services that allow messaging integration with other applications are configured here.
* **Electronic signature**: Administration of document or transmission signing, including certificates and related configuration.
* **Status**: Provides a summary of the overall status of services and key configurations.
* **Third-party software**: Section to declare and manage external components that interact with Editran Connect.

Each of these sections is essential to ensure the correct functioning and customization of Editran Connect according to the specific needs of the organization.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-v2.1-en/operacion/configuracion_local.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
