# Migration of RSA keys from EditranGC to Connect

A command-line application is distributed with the Connect installation that will allow creating RSA keys in Editran Connect from the RSA keys of EditranGC.

The input with the information that will be incorporated into the Connect database will be the file generated by EditranGC and that the migration application will extract from the Editran 5.2.2 installation.

## Requirements

The initial configuration of the Editran Connect application must have been carried out and the Connect service (Editran Connect Base) must be running.

EditranGC cannot be running.

**It is necessary that the profile migration has been performed**, described above, and also the local and remote codes corresponding to the RSA keys to be generated must have been created.

The information will be taken from the file generated by EditranGC, whose name is controlGC\*.cfg\* and which must exist in the path \<DIR\_INSTALACION\_EDITRAN>/cfg, and from the files with the private and public keys that are located in the path \<DIR\_INSTALACION\_EDITRAN>/cfg/.rsa.

## Usage

1. Open a CMD terminal.
2. Go to the path \<DIR\_INSTALACION\_CONNECT>/utils, where the file is located *migraGC.bat*.
3. In the terminal, run `*migraGC.bat -e*`
4. Once the process has finished, to see the result check the file *migraGC.log* located in the path *\<DIR\_INSTALACION\_EDITRAN> /log/migrar.*
5. The EditranGC key records (lines of the file) with some conflict or error, and that could not be migrated, can be consulted in the file *migraGC.err* located in the path *\<DIR\_INSTALACION\_EDITRAN>/log/migrar*.

## Important matters

1. Keys that cannot be migrated will be recorded in the log and error files, and the process will continue.

## Possible errors

1. Not specified *-e*. The application will inform the user how to perform the execution.
2. The Connect service is not running, and an attempt was made to use the migrator. In this case the program will warn that it was not possible to connect to the remote server (Connect).
3. Numbered errors. These are internal program errors (bug) and the exact cause cannot be indicated. Report the problem to the Connect provider so it can be analyzed by the development team.

## Example

Will be executed `migraGC.bat -e`

Next, the corresponding logs should be reviewed to check the result of the migration of each record and possible errors.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-v2.1-en/instalacion/migracion/clavesrsa.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
