# Recover

All files that have previously been temporarily discarded can be recovered. It is not possible to recover files that were deleted during the discard process.

When the file is recovered, all signatures that had been made on it are also recovered.

Files can be recovered by any users who have the permission **Withdraw** in the *file group* to which the file belongs.

Files can be recovered manually or automatically.\
🖐️ Manual recovery: is performed by pressing the button **Recover**, available on the **File detail** screen of a file that has previously been discarded. ![Botón Recuperar fichero](https://64653979-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FvdpBggYaSLH9X3nOAiMG%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-bde264fc5dd2bcc7c551cf446b31c8879da12040%2F09_boton_recuperar.png?alt=media) ⏰ Automatic recovery: is executed on a scheduled basis when, during the discard process, a recovery date and time has been defined. Even if an automatic recovery is scheduled, the user can recover the file manually at any time before the set date.

Regardless of the recovery method, once the file and the signatures it had at the time it was discarded are restored, its signature flow can be resumed.

The recovery operation is audited in the **Signing activity log** can be viewed.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-v2.1-en/firma/firmadeficheros/detallefichero/recuperar.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
