# Sending and receiving directories

All submissions and receipts from and to *channels* of Connect with signature are made from or to subdirectories of the same root directory. This root directory has a unique value in the product configuration. A user with the global administrator role can modify the default value of that directory from **Local Configuration -> Electronic Signature**.

📌 **Important**

> When this directory is modified, the new value applies to file group registrations configured from that moment on. The send and receive directories associated with signature set up earlier will not be affected.

The root directory for *channels* of signature is shown in the view offered by the section **Files** of the creation or editing of a *channel* when **Signing Channel**.

In the ***channels***** of issuance with signature**, files will be sent from subdirectories under the root directory whose name is that of the *file group* with which the file has been signed:

`[Root send and receive mailbox for signature channels]/[Name of the file group]`

From the menu **Channel details** you can check the send directory of each *file group* for the purpose of signing that is associated with the *channel*.

In the ***channels***** of reception with signature**, files will be received in subdirectories under the root directory with the following structure:

`[Root send and receive mailbox for signature channels]\R\[Local-Remote-Application]`

From the menu **Channel details** you can check the receive directory of the *channel*.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-v2.1-en/firma/administracionconnectfirma/canal/dirs_envio_recepcion_canales_con_firma.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
