# Receiving channel

If a *channel* is for reception and has the signature characteristic marked:

* The files received through it are signatures that are verified immediately and automatically right after reception.
* The signature files that are received must have the extension `.xsig` or `.p7b` so that Connect recognizes them as such and can apply the desired verification processing to them.
* The verification of each signature file is carried out on two levels: a first one with respect to itself (structure, validity of the received certificates, integrity of the signed file, etc.) and another with respect to the signing rules, or *file groups*, that apply to it. Whenever possible, during the validation of the first level the signed file is extracted.
* The rules with which the signatures are verified are defined through the *file groups* purpose verification that are associated with the *channel*.
* Files are not configured from the menu **Contacts** and **Channels** menu but from the **File group**.
* In **Integration with applications -> Post-reception process** should not be activated **Move to directory** nor **Execute program** when this implies moving the received files with extension `.xsig` or `.p7b`. This is because the verification process can only be triggered if the signature files are in the reception directory.

The *file groups* purpose to verify, and that have already been configured for the *channel* of reception, are displayed listed in **Address book -> Contact -> Channel (Edit) → Files**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-v2.1-en/firma/administracionconnectfirma/canal/configuracion_canal_recepcion_con_firma.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
