# Local codes

The screen for **Local codes** allows managing the code identifiers that we have in our local installation in the communication channels within Editran Connect and that third parties will identify as remote when they refer to our node. These codes are essential for channel definition and association with cryptographic keys.

* **Section title**\
  At the top of the main area the title is displayed **Local codes**, indicating the active view.
* **Search**\
  A search field with placeholder text *Search* allows filtering existing local codes by free text.
* **“View RSA keys” button**\
  Allows direct access to the view of the RSA keys associated with the different local codes.
* **“New local code” button**\
  Starts the process to create a new local code, opening a form to assign an identifier and a name.
* **List of local codes**\
  Displays a simplified table with the following data:
  * **Local code**: unique identifier number.
  * **Local name**: alias or description assigned to the code.
  * **Options menu (⋮)**: located to the right of each code, displays additional options such as edit or delete.

## Entry example

In the image shown, an existing local code can be seen:

* **Local code**: `555555551`
* **Local name**: `MyLocal` - Name by which we identify that license.

This record can be edited or deleted using the available context menu.

> ⚠️ Note: Incorrect management of local codes can cause the channels that depend on them to become inoperative. Make sure the codes are correctly configured and enabled by the license.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-3.2-en/operacion/configuracion_local/codigos_locales.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
