# Local configuration

The section **Local Configuration** of Editran Connect allows you to view and modify the essential parameters for system operation. Access is limited according to the user's role, with the **Global Administrator** the one who has all editing and management permissions.

![Access to local configuration](https://1386330368-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F2jqgE5yyM3S58JKHROiz%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-62347e194f4d7f3ea60bd335ca6e63bb6ac18a2a%2F10_configuracion_local_acceso.png?alt=media)

In the left-hand side menu of this section, you will find the following options:

* **License**: Shows general information about the license we have installed and its details.
* **Local codes**: Allows you to manage the identifiers that represent the local installation in the communication channels. It also includes the management of RSA keys associated with these codes and that we will exchange with other remote nodes.
* **IP Addresses**: Here the local IP addresses and those used as proxy are configured. It is essential to ensure proper communication with third-party Editran nodes
* **Application categories**: Makes it easier to logically classify channels by assigning categories that group different application codes.
* **Schedules**: Allows you to define the schedules that govern when automatic transmissions are executed. They can be daily, weekly, or monthly.
* **Mail server**: SMTP server configuration used for sending emails, such as reports or notifications.
* **Report communication**: Sets the recipients and frequency of statistical reports related to transmission activity.
* **Messaging services**: The services that allow messaging integration with other applications are configured here.
* **Electronic signature**: Management of document or transmission signing, including certificates and related configuration.
* **Status**: Provides a summary of the overall status of services and key configurations.
* **Third-party Software**: Section for declaring and managing external components that interact with Editran Connect.

Each of these sections is essential to ensure the correct functioning and customization of Editran Connect according to the organization's specific needs.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.editran.onesait.com/documentacion-editran/connect-3.2-en/operacion/configuracion_local.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
